... which then turned into a bit of a Castle marathon as I went back to some episodes in Season 5 (I figured I've earned the break). It felt so great to rewatcch those episodes!
It's funny because I wasn't that crazy about the show when I first started watching it. I gave it a shot because it had Nathan Fillion and White Collar was on a break, and it turned out to be quite decent - I liked it, but didn't really love it. Then at some point, I stopped seeing it as the "filler" show for when WC isn't on and began to love it for its own merits.
I so enjoyed the finalle, and frankly most of the latest episodes (and season 5... and 4... and those before). I could gush for a long long time, but, just - Beckett. That woman is so freaking amazing. I think she's become my most favorite female TV character - she's smart, gorgeous, driven, tough yet compassionate, with strong morals and really committed to being a cop, yet so extremely human. And then Castle - I loved him so much in the season finale! As I rewatch the show, I'm constantly amazed by just how very much those two have grown in all the best ways. I love the way their relationship has evolved over the series. Then there are all the supporting characters - I adore Castle's family, which is not exactly traditional yet so awesome - and the boys and girls on the station.
I can't believe how fond I've grown of all of them. It's not like the show doesn't have its own share of flaws, but it's grown on me in ways I didn't expect. And more evil cliffhangers! Season 7, you can't come soon enough!!!

Date: 2014-05-14 09:05 am (UTC)Though I have to say that the wedding thing the entire season was getting a little on my nerve... And .... THIS! Seriously?!
I couldn't wait to get over it, and... rha!
And more generally I've found this season less fun than the past ones. I think season 4 was the craziest, with all those zombies, superheros, time travels...
And season 5 had also a lot of funny moments while Castle and Beckett were dating in secret.
Though, I do agree with you that the characters have evolved nicely and almost without us noticing. I like that, and I like that they proved Moonlighting wrong. In general, I've found that they've handle the change of dynamic really well, and without those weird unbelievable stories there was in Bones for exemple. And they didn't stall too much (only one season (the fourth one), but at least, they did made it worth it!)

Date: 2014-05-16 12:49 pm (UTC)Season 4 did have some pretty insane cases :D Like when they woke up cuffed together - one of those "every fan's dream" things :D And season 5 was fun too.
I don't really think they stalled the relationship much in S4 though... well they did, but then it was time for Beckett to recover and figure things out, so she and Castle might not have been visibly moving anywhere, but it was important for them nevertheless. And it showed how Castle has already changed and that he was serious about her... that he was willing to wait and give her the space. I loved how they handled here therapy sessions.
Though I do wonder what they have in mind with the season 6 finalle... It's curious though, because White Collar and Castle did almost the same thing for their season finale, but while I really disliked the ending of WC season 5, I didn't mind the ending of "Castle".
Back to chemistry!

Date: 2014-05-16 12:59 pm (UTC)Like, I didn't mind that episode where Castle was framed for murder, while I'm still freaking out each time I think about Peter in orange...
Though to be honest, I'm no more worried for Neal than for Castle. Both shows are still "blue sky" enough that we know nothing bad will happen to them.
It's not like that stall the relationship in S4, but during all season you felt like they were getting serious and still afraid of jumping (well Beckett at least). So you spend the entire season waiting for it to happen. Like the wedding in season 6...
I'm actually really happy with the fact they didn't stall it for too long, and the evolution of their relationship seems natural. And I'm glad they weren't afraid of getting them together when it had to happen.
I don't know what they're going to do. Probably some quick intimate thing. After all the troubles they got into to have it on time... LOL
I just felt a little let down that it did not happen after all those talks of wedding plans...
