Summary: Together, Peter and El could overcome even the hardest challenge.

The man stared at him with huge hypnotizing eyes that were threatening to swallow him.

“I know why you came here.” His voice spoke of evil triumph.

Peter coughed and smiled nervously. “Hello, Alan.”

“How is work, Peter?” asked Alan-the-psychiatrist kindly.

“Work! Work is – good. Work is –” Suddenly the words froze in Peter’s throat. He found he couldn’t move.

“You thought you could steal my baby girl,” hissed Alan venomously. “Instead, I am going to steal your soul!!!”

“Alan –”

The men in white coats appeared out of nowhere. Alan pointed at Peter. “This man suffers from schizophrenic bipolar sexsomnia disease. Seize him and throw him into secret cellar in my mental institution!”

“What?!” exclaimed Peter. “You have no evidence for that!”

Alan laughed. “I’m not FBI. I don’t need evidence.” The cloaked men grabbed Peter. Getting rid of his gun, handcuffs and phone, they put him into a straight jacket and threw him into a black van.

“See you in hell, Peter,” cackled Alan Mitchell evilly.

“NO! El! EL!!!”

The van started moving. Lying on the floor, Peter could feel every bump in the road. The Mitchells’ house was becoming smaller in distance –

“El! Elizabeth! Honey!!! El, I love you!!! PLEASE-”

A cellar. No light, no way out.

”El…”

“Peter. Peter!”

Peter’s eyes snapped open. Somebody was shaking him – he gave a strangled yelp as he saw the shadowed figure above him.

“El?” he whispered.

“Honey, what’s wrong?” asked Elizabeth in genuine concern.

Peter reached for El’s face. “Is that you?”

“Hon –”

Still covered in cold sweat, Peter pulled her closer. First kiss, then touching, then sex that was filled with comfort and reassurance.

Tomorrow, they would tell the Mitchells that they were getting married.

And El would be with him every step of the way

Yeah, poor Peter. Since he still looked quite nervous about his father in law after ten years of marriage - I can't imagine how terrified he must have felt before announcing their engagement.
