First impression: I like her. She’s cute! Impression now: Still like her :) She’s strong, resilient, caring, empathic and very kind, somewhat motherly and overall a good person. Of course, she can also be quite stubborn and headstrong :D But she genuinely enjoys helping people and caring for them, both for her friends and for random strangers. In our world, she would be a humanitarian, probably building schools in the third world or arguing better conditions for kids from poor families. At the same time, it was awesome to watch her grow into a powerful bender – really, her whole development arch was amazing, from the little girl to a fierce, determined woman with a heart of gold. Favorite moment: One of my favorites Katara moments is when she learns blood-bending to stop Hama. She masters the skill, proves her power and saves her friends and other innocent people, but she’s still heartbroken and cries because she learned a dark, corrupt skill of controlling people, and she lost a part of her innocence with that. It’s very human, very Katara and I just want to hug her so hard and curse Hama every time I watch it. Idea for a story: Set some time after Ozai is defeated, Mei and Katara get to know each other. Or, after Ozai’s defeat, Katara visits Zuko the Fire nation, meeting random people, being herself and healing and helping some of the prejudices in the process. Unpopular opinion: I don’t think I have one… Favorite relationship: I love the sibling love between Sokka and Katara. I also liked Katara/Aang and enjoyed the friendship between Katara and Toph with all their ups and downs :) Favorite headcanon: I’m bad with headcanons, I’m afraid… /o\
