Sara

First impression: I liked her a lot from the start (that said, I watched Seasons 1 to Season 3 midseason finale pretty much in one go over the course of maybe two weeks…). Initially, I saw Sara softer than how I view her now.

Impression now: Absolutely love her! She’s independent, smart, sexy, with a tough exterior but she has a good heart. She doesn’t let anyone push her around and she’s not afraid to wander into the “grey areas” while still mostly keeping her feet on the ground.

Favorite moment: I don’t know if I have one. It’s more like a string of all the little things I love about her… Hmmm. Maybe when she lies to Kramer about the Raphael to give Neal time to get the painting back. She really puts herself on the line for him and she has to believe he won’t let her down. It’s not some big declaration or a huge gesture, but maybe that makes it mean even more.
On the completely shallow side, any moment with Sara and her baton :D

Idea for a story: LOL, just one? I guess something with Sara and the other WC women… Wait, got it. So I was going to write this as a part of an established ‘verse, but since that sequel will probably never come to be… /o\ Basically, it was a Season 3 canon-divergent AU where Neal ends up in DC and Sara’s relationship with Neal really comes to bite her in the ass. Remember the Sterling&Bosch case where Bryant (?) (Sara’s ex) steals that super-strong string? So, when he realizes the FBI is on to him, he sets up Sara to take the fall. And she’s already under suspicion because of Neal. Of course Peter and the team believe she’s innocent, but they’re not leading the investigation anymore once Sara becomes the main suspect. So Neal is in DC unable to help, Sara is in jail awaiting trial and facing the terrible prospect of being convicted, and it’s all one big angst fest. Yep :D

Unpopular opinion: Once they start dating, I don’t think Sara is wrong not to trust Neal completely, keeping her feet on the ground. She still tries not to hurt him and she is on his side, but she has to protect herself as well and I don’t think that’s wrong.
Also, gorgeous and sexy as she is, Sara is pretty bad when it comes to using her “feminine weapons” – somehow, some people are convinced that makes her shallow. Now don’t get me wrong – if we’re okay with men like Neal using his charm and looks to get what he wants, it’s sexist to reject the same thing with gorgeous women. But Sara doesn’t use her looks like that, is actually quite terrible at it when she is to play the “eye candy”, and I’m more than okay with that.

Favorite relationship: Neal/Sara for SO MANY REASONS, but I think Sara’s one of the few people who can keep up with Neal and not get swallowed by his world, and Neal doesn’t feel threatened by Sara’s success and independence and really cares to get to know her.

Favorite headcanon: She’s not miserable in London, wallowing in her oh-lost-chance at the perfect relationship. She’s enjoying the job and being pretty good at it. That said, she and Neal still eventually find a way to be together post-Season 6.
Not headcanon but what I’d like for her: she gets some closure about Emily (preferably a happy one).
