Oh, there is so many of them... Okay, for the more active ones:

There is "Fading into Oblivion", which is an AU to the Season 6 finale. Without revealing too much, Peter is almost alone as he races against time, knowing that if he's late, Neal will surely be dead. It's a very angsty story.

Then there is my "Dungeons" fill to my H/C bingo card, which is a historical AU in which Neal has to save Peter from a very bad situation.

I'm currently considering what to do with my slave!Neal WIP - there is Neal-Sara friendship, and a romance plot between some unexpected characters and I may have to rewrite the whole thing.

And finally there is Inevitable, my never-ending WIP that I talked about a million times already, so I won't go into detail.

What makes you want to write a story?

The thing is, there is a huge gap between stories that I want to write and stories that I actually do write. There were (and are) so many plots in my head that just never happened even though I really wanted to write them... and sometimes an idea just demands to be written even when it came out of nowhere...

Anyway, for me to want to write a fic, there has to be something that I like about it or that I find particularly interesting - a plot bunny, a situation, a particular character/friendship/pairing, even a moral question. There have been stories I've written simply because I felt there was a "gap in the market", so to speak - for example, I always wanted to read a fic where Kate survived the explosion, wasn't a bad person and she and Neal found a better fate - and since I didn't find a story like that, I eventually wrote "(Meet me) At the Crossroads". Sometimes I want to fill a particular gap left by the show, or to explain something from others' POV. I almost always include Mozzie into my stories at least in some small way, because I never get enough of him, I love his friendship with Neal (and June, and Peter...) and I feel like there isn't enough of him in fanfic. Sometimes I had to write a fic when the show left me in a difficult place. Some stories, I just wanted to explore a particular trait of a character or a relationship. Something I'm dealing with stuff in my life and it makes its way into a story.

So it's a combination of things, I guess.

EDIT: And then there's always writing for specific people, which I often enjoy simply for the fact that it's for them and I hope they'll like it :)

We all write for different reasons and I always like hearing what makes someone put the time into committing an idea to paper (so to speak).

Not always, though there is definitely an overlap. For example, I adore femslash, but so far I haven't been able to write it. I absolutely can't write PWP, but I do enjoy it on a rare occasion. I'm not much into pure H/C and fluff, so I rarely read it and almost never write it. There are also pairings I like to read but simply can't write.

I love plotty fics, casefics and adventure, and I both write and read those. Angst is another thing that I both love to read and write. Friendship fics are pure gold.

So what about you, what makes you want to write a story?

How compelling it is in my head. Am I thinking about it while driving, as I'm falling asleep, do I hear the dialogue when I'm supposed to be doing something else.

When I have that - I know that I have a story that needs to be written.

I tend to read and write the same kind of fics, though I can't say I write many lenghty fics but I do enjoy reading them every once in a while. I also enjoy reading some (light) h/c even though I don't write them that much. I wrote a few, but that's not my main genre as a writer.

What AUs or tropes will you not touch even with a ten foot pole?

A/B/O - no thanks but really no. Also "abusive-relationship-turned-real-love" (better yet, "after-abuser-nearly-killed-the-"loved-one"") - I'm not sure if it's a trope that has a name, but I've seen it way too often in various fandoms and it just makes my skin crawl.

Finally, I don't think I could ever write about a character being blindned because I find it triggery.

Is that actually a thing? I don't know how anyone could make sense of an abusive relationship that suddenly turns loving.

In my headcanons, Dramione comes close to this trope, but I've never seen those two as the lovey dovey type. Any love they share would have to be at least a little destructive. And it could never end in happily ever after. Maybe angrily ever after? Destructively ever after? I don't know XD
