Looking for a GIMP tutorial
Dec. 13th, 2014 08:35 amI recently started playing with some art and since I decided to use legal software, I downloaded GIMP instead of trying to get my hands on Photoshop. I'm already finding it very useful and a lot of fun, but the thing I still haven't really figured out is the layers.
Like, what exactly are they supposed to do? I have some idea, but I'm not sure how close I am to reality. So, would anyone by chance know a good tutorial on GIMP that I could find on youtube or somewhere similar? I really don't need them to explain that you can draw lines with the paintbrush button and select specific areas with "magic wand" - this is the sort of stuff you figure out pretty quick by trial and error. I'm interested in the less obvious stuff - and I know the program has some sort of handbook, but I'd rather not have to read through it if there's a less painful option.
Any tips?
