Outstanding story! Diana was put in such a terrible position, and then having to hurt Peter for them to survive – what a horrific decision to have to make. Peter’s small nod letting her know he trusted her is perfect – Peter always trusts his people to do the right thing.
Diana’s agony over hurting Peter shows how deep their friendship is – she is punishing herself much more than the FBI can. She is hurting at a base level because of the decision she was forced to make. The end with Peter is perfect, he is there for her, letting her know there is nothing to forgive.
Even Neal and Diana have such a special friendship, him showing up to talk to her, support her, letting her know she made the only decision possible.
